The Largest Pet Rehabilitation Center in Placer County!!

Sierra Ranch Pet Rehabilitation Center offers state-of-the-art physical rehabilitation for pets, in our 7000sq.ft. indoor/outdoor facility. We structure our rehabilitation sessions to achieve maximum results for each individual patient while keeping in mind their limitations. The center has a very mellow, calming atmosphere that soothes even the most nervous patient while encouraging healing.

Sierra Ranch Veterinary Clinic and Rehabilitation Center is excited to announce that Dr. Christina Venable has officially passed her examinations to become a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CCRP), and a Certified Veterinary Pain Practitioner (CVPP). With these new certifications, she is now the only veterinarian in Northern California who is certified in acupuncture, pet rehabilitation, and pain management. In fact, there are only 8 Certified Veterinary Pain Practitioners in California, and less than 150 in the world.

Having these qualifications is essential for an integrative approach to treatment of the whole pet to reduce pain, inflammation, and increase the mobility and function of your pet.

A little about the pathway to her certifications –

While she was working as a general practitioner, Dr. Venable kept seeing the limited options of treating patients for their pain and mobility issues as they aged. Frustration with this deficit in patient care prompted her to seek out alternative options for these patients that was something more than just another pill or another shot.

After achieving certification in medical acupuncture and seeing amazing results with neurological dogs walking again, osteoarthritis patients running again, she still wanted to do more for her patients. This motivated her to seek out further certification in rehabilitation and pain management.

Dr. Venable uses her years of rigorous study and training, to work with the client to create an individualized treatment plan that often incorporates multiple integrative modalities. This plan aims to improve the quality of life of dogs, cats, and other furry or scaly critters and helps them return to their favorite activities, be it running, hiking, or just being able to get in the windowsill and enjoy a sunbeam lit snooze.

With her new certifications in rehabilitation therapy and pain management, she is excited to offer even more modalities to help improve the lives of her patients.

These modalities include (but are not limited to):

·         Regenerative medicine such as PRP (platelet rich plasma) injections into diseased joints

·         Custom orthotic braces

·         Ultrasound guided nerve blocks for orthopedic surgery

·         Pain management services including customized medication/supplement plans for acute, chronic, and cancer pain, as well as constant rate infusions for severe pain

·         Rehabilitation services including photobiomodulation (laser) therapy, underwater treadmill therapy, targeted pulsed electromagnetic field therapy, neuromuscular stimulation, exercises to improve proprioception and muscle strength, and customized home exercise programs

·         Acupuncture and electroacupuncture

We are excited to welcome your referral patients to our practice and look forward to working with you.
